Napping Is Officially An Exercise And We Are Never Leaving Our Bed Again

As adults, we blissfully remember the times where "nap" was a required part of our day by our parents and school teachers. How tragic it is to remember the days of naps without FOMO or not accomplishing work?

Now, there is a class in the United Kingdom called "nap-ercise."

Created by David Lloyd Clubs, a gym chain in the UK, this class is an hour long. The first fifteen minutes are dedicated to stretching, and the other 45 minutes are for hardcore power-napping. Does this not sound like the greatest idea since slice bread?!

Furthermore, the class is equipped with blankets, cots, and the perfect temperature for students' optimal sleep. While the class is only offered at one of their locations, the David Lloyd Clubs says that they are thinking of expanding the class across the UK, depending on how the class grows in number of students of course.

If you are anything like me, this class sounds like heaven on earth. It would finally give a little bit of credence to your gym membership. Wouldn't it be great to tell your friends that you "went to the gym" and "worked out" even if you just took a nap? I most definitely think that would be the bomb.com.

Napercise was originally incorporated into the gym's schedule to help adults, especially parents, catch those appreciated z's. As science has proven time and time again, napping has led to stress relief, better rest, and improved focus. Really, there is no downside to napping, and why not do it at the gym?

To all of the haters who do not seem to understand why you are so tired (I mean, they are probably just as tired as you but for some reason are choosing to be an asshole), you will now be able to prove them wrong. In fact, I do not know why this type of rest and relaxation was not already included in a lot of gym schedules.

Pilates and yoga have offered relaxing yin-inspired classes for years, and yoga nidra is about de-stressing, relaxation, and sleep. So why are other forms of exercise and their respective studios/gyms not taken note? Hopefully, David Lloyd Clubs pushed over the first domino.
