Alt-Right Supremacists Barge Their Way Into A Racial Justice Seminar Scaring The Sh*t Out Of Everybody

If you believe that white supremacy is a thing of the past, think again. The people who embrace this hateful and oppressive ideology are becoming bolder by the day as evidenced by a recent incident in South Florida.

Social justice educator Lutze Segu convened a seminar in Wilton Manors calling for unity against the racist agenda purported by Neo-Nazi groups. Ironically, the gathering was interrupted by a group called Identity Europa who barged into the meeting toting a banner and everything. It read, "NO REGRETS. We apologize for nothing."

Thankfully, that was the end of their little demonstration as these home-grown terrorists are well-known for shootings, bombings, lynchings, burnings, and mass murders. According to their website, Identity Europa is a "generation of awakened Europeans who have discovered that we are a part of the great peoples, history, and civilization that flowed from the European continent."

Led by thirty-something California native Nathan Damigo, the group is boldly recruiting from college campuses and marking their territory. Their message? "We have arrived. Get used to it."

Groups like these have found new life and energy since the election of Donald J. Trump and they believe that their time to reclaim the country is now. "We as the alt-right are the reason why Trump won," Damigo said.

What's particularly curious about the former marine, who did two tours in Iraq when he was 18 years old, is his mental health and criminal past.  He was suicidal after his first tour and suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, paranoia, and addictions to drugs and alcohol after the second. He then landed in prison for five years after committing armed robbery of a cab driver who he mistook for being Iraqi. This is the man that young White people are lining up to follow.

Segu recognizes the need to organize people to fight white supremacy because it "harms all people, including White people." Obviously there are many who do not share her sentiments. There are countless numbers of people who are members of these groups, or at least support them. Better that we come together sooner than later because the next protest may not be so peaceful.
