Newborn Found Buried Alive Near Compton Walking Trail
A newborn baby girl probably wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for two sisters who heard her cries. The child had been buried alive... in a hole... near a walking trail in Compton.
The women were out for a walk Friday when they heard what initially sounded like a cat crying. Realizing it wasn't an animal, they called 911. That's when deputies found the baby under pieces of asphalt and debris, wrapped in a hospital blanket. She was less than 48 hours old.

"There's indications that the child was born at a medical facility or at a hospital because of the blanket," LA Sheriff's Dept. Sgt. Marvin Jaramilla said. "We do know that if the child had spent the night there in those conditions, the baby wouldn't have survived."
Thankfully, she did survive and is in stable condition. But when her parents are found, cops say they face attempted murder charges.
