Hello From 2026? Adele Says She Won't Tour Again For Another 10 Years
If you thought waiting four years between Adele's second and third albums was rough, you won't be happy to hear this: She just announced that she won't be going on tour for another decade.
“I’m sorry if I disappear for a while, but I do it for you," she said in an interview with The Sun on Sunday.
According to the UK tabloid newspaper, after the British singer's 25 world tour wraps up the last of its 107 shows in Phoenix, Arizona, this November, she's taking at least ten years off to raise her son, Angelo.
“Angelo is the number one priority for Adele. He is the most important thing in her life," a source told The Sun. "Adele doesn’t want to miss a moment of Angelo growing up and it’s an easy decision for her to give up touring for him."
Now for some good news for her fans, especially those of us who struggled to get tickets to one of her recent shows: Adele is planning a move to the U.S. The Sun reported, and she isn't ruling out a Las Vegas residency a la Britney Spears and Mariah Carey.
“A regular Vegas show appeals to her because it is in one place and she would be able to maintain a normal life, but it won’t happen for a number of years," the source said.
Another thing on Adele's thinking about crossing off her bucket list? College!
“I’m desperate to go to university," she told The Sun.
“I was about to start university in Liverpool in England and then I got offered a record deal, so I was like, ‘Ugh, what do I do?’ " she said, adding, "Obviously I took the record deal, which I don’t regret at all."
Though her dream school is Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, she's not sure she'll get in.
"I want to go and do a tour of Harvard but I don’t want anyone thinking I’m smart enough to go to Harvard," she joked. "I’m going to buy a T-shirt so I can sleep in a Harvard T-shirt. I think I would pretend to wear glasses if I went to university."
Happy studying, Adele! We're expecting a kick-ass album when you get back.
