OMG Wet Seal Is Closing All Of Its Locations And Our Teenage Hearts Are Broken

Guys! Wet Seal is closing!

Yes, it's a true tragedy. The '90s favorite is shutting down all of it's stores nationwide and we are so, so sad.

Wet Seal  filed bankruptcy in 2005 and closed 300 of it's stores. But, 171 brave Wet Seal locations kept the' 90s alive for another 11 years before this recent announcement of their final days.

After Delia's closed in 2015, we at least had Wet Seal to fall back on. But now, no more.

All of the big mall hits of the '90s are facing demise. The Limited just closed down all it's stores, Deb is gone. We swear, if Claire's goes, we don't know what we're going to do!

In this time of tragedy, we have to look back on the glory days of Wet Seal. When they gave away tickets to No Doubt concerts and Mandy Moore wore their clothes.

You could get so many floral prints and things with daisies on them. Where we will get our daisies now?

Though Wet Seal connected with teens and teen celebrities in the '90s, they've failed to make the same connection today and sales have been dropping since the early 2000s.

On a less funny note, they also had to pay out $7.5 million for a settlement that claimed that they fired or hid African-American employees. Why? Cause they wanted the brand to maintain it's all white image.

Ugh.

So maybe this is a sign that it's time to grow up. To quit shopping at Forever 21 and living in the juniors section.

Or, we could go to the mall and get an Orange Julius before getting a cartilage piercing at Claire's. Or we'll cross over to the dark side and visit Hot Topic.

At least Hot Topic is still around and exclusively plays whiney, emo rock. So, if you really want a blast from your past, know that there's always something in the mall to keep you in the '90s forever.
