"Operation Extra Olives": Papa John's Employees Busted For Pushing Cocaine Pies
Better ingredients. Better pizza, huh? When most people order a pizza and ask for extra olives, they usually mean extra olives. But at a Papa John's in King County, Washington, requesting this particular topping meant that you wanted something entirely different: cocaine.
Apparently two men have been arrested for selling the illegal drug in the parking lot after a six-month investigation that authorities dubbed, "Operation Extra Olives." Undercover cops made drug buys from the two restaurant employees on four different visits.
"What the detectives would do is they'd order pizza and go out and wait in the parking lot," King County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Sgt. Cindi West said. "The employee would bring the pizza out and in the box would be the cocaine."
The Sammamish Police Department, Bellevue Police Department, and King County Sheriff's Office teamed up to search the restaurant and other areas and found about $28,000 in cash and cocaine plus marijuana, LSD, Oxycodone, methamphetamine, and ecstasy. In the restaurant, they found cocaine residue around sinks and cash register with drugs stashed in sinks, soap dispensers, and even the cash register.

Altogether, five people have been arrested in conjunction with the drug operation and are sitting in the King County Jail without bail. None of the people involved were managers, though. They were reportedly oblivious to the scheme. Papa John's issued a statement condemning the actions of their members saying:
"Papa John's has zero tolerance for this type of offensive and illegal behavior. The franchisee has confirmed that the employees involved with this situation are no longer employed and we apologize for their actions. The franchisee is working in full cooperation with local law enforcement to resolve this matter."
The statement goes on to say that the Health Department has cleared the restaurant to reopen. One thing's for sure, though. If you order extra olives going forward at this location, then that is exactly what you are gonna get--extra olives.
