Philando Castile's Girlfriend Arrested For Attacking A Woman With A Hammer

Getting justice for one of our slain brothers at the hands of a trigger-happy cop just got harder. Brace yourselves--Philando Castile's girlfriend allegedly attacked a woman with a hammer.

As if Diamond Reynolds doesn't already have enough to deal with after witnessing the murder of her boyfriend, she was arrested and charged with 2nd and 3rd-degree assault. Reynolds says she had nothing to do with the attack. Mind you, the case against the cop who shot Castile is still pending. But as the prime witness in his case, Reynolds' arrest may not fare so well in the court of public opinion nor in the courtroom.

The Star Tribune reported that Reynolds' and another woman jumped the victim in a parking garage beating her up. Reynolds then struck her with a hammer and bashed in her windshield.

A third woman reportedly sprayed her with mace. Ramsey County District Court Judge Thomas Gilligan, Jr. set her bail at $40,000 citing "public safety concerns" and calling the charges "very serious allegations."

Reynolds' attorney, Karlowba Adams Powell, argued for her release without bail or into her mother's custody, but the judge wasn't trying to hear any of that. He gave her two choices: $40,000 bail with no conditions or $20,000 if she has no contact with the victim or the other two alleged attackers.

Reynolds is due back in court to enter her "not guilty" plea on April 3. This is not a good look.
