The Future of Medicine: Check Out This Super Chic European Hospital With Hotel Amenities
Hospitals aren't always the most cozy places to stay, but one company out of Scandinavia wants to make the experience much more comfortable.
Meet Patient Hospital, ‘a modern, design-led hotel, with the care and wellness elements of a high quality hospital.’
Because why must hospital life be miserable?

The newest iteration of design studio 3XN is located in Copenhagen, Denmark. The target market is patients who aren’t in need of critical full hospitalization, yet have to travel long distances for their care. Thus the staff is a combination of standard hotel workers and nurses. Two birds, one hospital.
Getting jealous yet?

As well as having a high-end restaurant on location (American hospitals pleaseeee take note), the hotel boasts 74 rooms, each plenty large enough for the discerning patient. The guest rooms take up the first three floors; the top three are offices and examination rooms.
The creative director for 3XN isn’t shy about showing pride in their building’s advantages over the classic model. “We designed the building with these open atria to offer good visual contact, instead of the closed corridors usually associated with hospitals.

“In addition, we ensured that ample daylight and warm materials and colors create a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere, which serves as a comforting environment during a difficult period.”
Imagine if hospitals stateside actually made an effort with comfort. Le sigh.
Until this obviously amazing wave of healthcare hits the US, you’ll simply have to jet to Denmark for the poshest of medicine.
