Kevin Gates is just days away from freedom! The rapper is scheduled to be released from prison Wednesday, Jan. 10. But this is all familiar territory for the rapper.

Just to catch some of y'all up: Kevin previously served 5 months behind bars for infamously kicking a woman in the chest during a concert. Here's how it all went down:

In a twisted turn of events, on the same day of his release, Gates was arrested again. This time for a weapons charge for which he plead guilty to and was sentenced for 30 months.

Now, according to TMZ, Kevin is about to be a free man! Lindsey Hess from the Illinois Department of Correction told TMZ that Gates would be released with the conditions that the rapper remains on parole with supervision and have no access to weapons until January of next year.

So what can we expect from Gates when he gets out? A mouthful that's for certain. According to the rapper's attorney, Herschel Rush, upon his release from prison, Gates plans on "devoting considerable time and resources talking to troubled teens and sharing anecdotes from his own life in hopes they'll avoid the same pitfalls." That includes reaching out to the Boys & Girls Club and other various organizations. We see you Kev!

No doubt the rapper is excited to get home to his family and friends, educate his community on the lessons he's learned behind bars, and back into the studio.

Here's hoping there's no more surprise warrants in Kevin Gates' future!
