All the Harry Potter Movies Are Coming Back to IMAX And Our 13 Year Old Selves are Freaking Out!!!
Accio nostalgia!
Harry Potter is never going away, and it’s newest resurgence will be all the film's return to IMAX for one week only, starting October 13.
All eight movies will be showing in select US and international IMAX theaters as a prelude/hype-train for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which hits theaters starting November 18.
For the mega-Potterheads out there, this ‘global fan event’ will be the first time ever you can experience the first two movies, ‘Sorcerer’s Stone’ and ‘Chamber of Secrets’, in IMAX. In the most pandering quote in the history of quotes, IMAX CEO Greg Foster says, “Being able to offer each installment – especially the initial two for the very first time in IMAX – makes this a truly magical event for fans.”
The only thing more magical than Hogwarts, however, is these movies’ earnings over the years. The eight movies have garnered $7.7 billion worldwide, with $216 million of that coming from IMAX screenings alone.
If you want to relive the glory days of Quidditch and Charms class, check with your nearest IMAX theatre to see if they’re participating. If they are, you can purchase a variety of different ticket packages that will grant access to just one or a few movies, or the entire series.
Because, be honest – you’ll totally be seeing them all.
