Russian Intel Agent Who Leaked Trump's 'Pee Pee' Tape Found Dead In Backseat Of His Car
Does watching the news ever feel like you are taking in a silver screen thriller or maybe an episode of really bad reality television? How about a little of both? If you tuned in when the story broke about Trump's ties to Russia and their involvement in the last presidential election, you were probably left to wonder what kind of high stakes poker games these world leaders were playing with our lives.
And then the story about "Pee Pee" Gate broke. Politics, money, power, illicit sex, and urine fetishes combined, left us all wondering if we were tuning in to Scandal or SNL. Putin was blackmailing Trump with videos of his dealings with prostitutes? Well, folks. There's more. The Russian intelligence agent who was suspected of helping compile the dossier against Trump was found dead in the backseat of his car on Boxing Day, December 26. The delay in reporting the incident is raising eyebrows.
If you will recall, former MI6 spy and Cambridge grad Christopher Steele penned the dossier detailing Trump's lewd practices. Once he was exposed as the author, he went into hiding. Several times in his report, he referred to a source very close to Igor Sechin, former deputy prime minister and current head of Rosneft (the state-owned oil company).
That source was believed to be Oleg Erovinkin, a former general in the KGB and its successor the FSB. He has also been described as a key liason between Sechin and Russian president Vladimir Putin. Media sources believe that the Kremlin is behind the murder and the cover-up.
According to The Telegraph, Russian state-run RIA Novosti news agency reported that Erovinkin’s body was, "found in a black Lexus... [and] a large-scale investigation has been commenced in the area. Erovinkin’s body was sent to the FSB morgue." Conflicting accounts make it difficult to pinpoint his cause of death. Initially it was reported as unknown, but now he died supposedly as a result of heart attack.
Christo Grozev, of Bulgarian think tank Risk Management Lab, is an expert on Russia-related security threats. He offered the following theory: "I have no doubt that at the time Erovinkin died, Mr Putin had Mr Steele’s Trump dossier on his desk. He would, arguably, have known whether the alleged... story is based on fact or fiction," he said. "Whichever is true, he would have had a motive to seek – and find the mole... He would have had to conclude that Erovinkin was at least a person of interest."
Sadly, it may be years before the truth about Erovinkin's death comes to light--if at all. Stay tuned. There is surely more to come...
