A January 2016 study found that when women were presented with different men, they would opt to have one night stands with the ultra bangin’ ones, but choose to settle down with the ones who reported having done nice stuff for others.

Another study, from back in 2013, states that this is connected to a desire to find a man that will make a good long term mate and parent. While it’s nice to have this trait in a short term relationship, women were more interested in finding mates that would be nice when they were interested in settling down.

Your Nice Boyfriend Is GREAT In Bed (Probably)

Canada has gotten in on the action too. Scientists asked single Canadians about traditionally “good” things they had done recently and about their sexual history. Published in the British Journal of Psychology, the results suggest that men who do nice things get laid more often. Men who reported doing nice things for others had a higher number of sexual partners AND more incidents of sex in the last 30 days than men who were attractive (but kind of dickish).

Your Future Husband Should be Nice (Duh)

So the next time you’re thinking about finding a man to settle down with, check his social media to see if he’s done anything nice for someone lately. Just don’t date him if he’s humble bragging every chance he gets. That's a sure sign of a low key douche. #notdadmaterial
