Superman has NOTHING on a father from Maryland.

Meet SuperDad! Carlos Pettigrew flipped his car... then ran half-a-mile home to save his kids, who he thought were trapped inside their burning home.

"I just pictured them in the house, you know, screaming for help and me not being able to be there," he told Fox 5 DC while fighting back tears.

Pettigrew is a teacher at Oxon Hill High School. He was in a conference with a parent when his frantic 13-year-old daughter called to break the news... then the call disconnected.

While racing home, he hit two curbs and flipped his car. But that didn't stop Pettigrew. Bloodied and bruised, he freed himself from the wreck and ran the rest of the way.

Thankfully, all three kids... and the family dog... were already out and safe.

But the fire, sparked by a faulty extension cord, caused $50,000 worth of damage. Now his SuperStudents are coming to the rescue by setting up a GoFundMe page.

"We just want to do whatever we can to help him," the students wrote. "Not only is Mr. Pettigrew a great teacher, but he is also a wonderful person."

Pettigrew says he's no superhero... and did what any dad would do for his children. #MajorProps
