Students Beware! This Teen Died After He Guzzled Too Many Caffeinated Drinks
Many of us have used coffee and energy drinks to become more awake or energized and thought nothing of it. But ingesting too many caffeinated drinks too quickly could mean the cost of your life.
Such is the case with 16-year-old South Carolina high school student David Allen Cripe, who according to the coroner of Richland County, died from heart complications as a result of downing several caffeinated beverages in a short period of time.
Cripe allegedly consumed a McDonald's latte, a Mountain Dew soda, and an energy drink in the two hours before he fell out in his local high school and died.
"We're not trying to speak out totally against caffeine. We believe people need to pay attention to their caffeine intake and how they do it, just as they do with alcohol or cigarettes." the coroner told Reuters.
