Teen Recounts Terrifying Rape By Her Brother, Family Beat Her Until She Aborted

A girl was brutally beaten by her family members after she was raped and impregnated by her brother three years ago at the age of 14, her sister told a Dallas jury Wednesday.

The sister, who was 12-years-old at the time of the assault, testified that her aunt forced her to hold her sister's ankles while she was beaten for hours so the fetus would be aborted, Rolling Out reported.

"(My aunt) told me 'This stays between us,' " the teen's sister testified, according to The Dallas Morning News. "I was scared of my Aunt Sharon."

When asked Tuesday if she held a grudge against her sister for aiding her relatives in the beating, the victim reportedly said, "She didn't have a choice."

The then-14-year-old was impregnated after she was allegedly raped by her brother, Robert Cayald, while she was sleeping. After she told her family about her pregnancy, they conspired to force her to abort it, according to Rolling Out.

The teen told authorities she was originally given several pills, possibly including plan-B pills, to force an abortion. But when that method wasn't successful, her cousin, Cedric Jones, and another cousin's husband, Lonnell McDonald, jumped and stomped on her stomach for hours until her water broke.

"It was like every time I woke up, they were still there," the victim said.

While in the bathroom, the teen expelled a stillborn fetus in her pants. The younger girl said she had to wash her sister's body in the bathtub because the postpartum hemorrhage was causing her to lose consciousness.

The family allegedly tried to burn the stillborn fetus on a grill, but when that didn't work, they gave Jones $25 to dispose of it. Authorities still haven't found its remains.

The victim, who is now 17 years old, lives with her sister and a foster family in Denton, Texas.

McDonald faces 99 years in prison, while Jones, another cousin, and the girls' aunt have each been charged with conspiracy to commit capital murder. McDonald has pleaded not guilty, the Dallas Morning News reported.

The teen's brother faces a sexual assault charge in the case; he was not involved in the beating.
