The 10 Best Movies to Watch in Your Twenties
Girls Watching Netflix
Your twenties can be rough -- whether you're going through college, you've already graduated, or you're starting your first job, your twenties are when all of society's expectations for what a well lived life come to a head. Suddenly, it's not only your responsibility but your duty to make something of yourself. While it's definitely an overwhelming and challenging time in your life, know this -- you're not on your own, and on top of that, movies have even been made out of that same experience. Here are some of our favorites.

13 Going on 30
This 2004 classic starring Jennifer Garner perfectly bridges the gap between childhood and adulthood -- a gap felt very acutely by anyone in their 20s. Perks of this movie include getting to watch Mark Ruffalo and the comical '80s setting at the beginning of the movie, a perfect throwback to the times I, too, used blue eyeshadow and bright red lipstick at age 13.

The Graduate
Another classic, The Graduate is a classic from the 1960s, starring Dustin Hoffman. Adjusted for inflation, population and moviegoing trends, The Graduate is the second most popular film of all time and with good reason. In the title role of a 21 year old college graduate with no real aim in life, Dustin Hoffman portrays a young man who gets involved in a complicated love triangle involving an older woman and her daughter.

In a World
A lesser-known indie film, 2013's In a World stars the always-talented, always-stunning Lake Bell in a film she herself wrote and directed. Taking influence from her own life, Lake Bell's character is struggling within the movie industry as a voice over artist with a dream as she encounters those who help her along the way and the many obstacles of a woman trying to break into a male-dominated industry.

Devil Wears Prada
With a star-studded cast, Devil Wears Prada a great movie to watch in your twenties as it takes on that ever-present burden in most twenty-somethings' lives -- career. This 2006 film stars Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, Emily Blunt and, as its protagonist, Anne Hathaway, who portrays a college graduate trying to break into journalism and instead settling to work at a fashion magazine.

500 Days of Summer
Highly popular with the twenty-something age group since its release in 2009, 500 Days of Summer stars Joseph Gordon Levitt alongside Zooey Deschanel. One of the most unique romantic comedy scripts of the 2000s, 500 Days of Summer details Joseph Gordon Levitt as the main character who gets hit hard with reality after having his expectations of love shattered.

Ordinary People
On a more serious note, Ordinary People takes on the grave issue of a family moving on after the death of one of their sons in a boating accident. Nominated for six Academy Awards in 1980, Ordinary People stars Donald Sutherland, Mary Tyler Moore, and serves as the directorial debut for Robert Redford.

Silver Linings Playbook
Starring America's sweetheart actress Jennifer Lawrence alongside Bradley Cooper, Silver Linings Playbook follows Cooper's character after his release from a mental health rehab, the result of anger problems he continues to work through even after his return from home. Serving as a love interest to Cooper's recently divorced character, Jennifer Lawrence's character, a widow, wins him over after a poor first impression.

Into the Wild
Highly influential for a lot of twenty-year-olds, Into the Wild is based on Christopher McCandless' book of the same name. In both the book and movie, McCandless spends all his savings after college to follow his dreams and go on a great Alaskan adventure of exploration and self-discovery.

Starring Orlando Bloom and the equally good looking Kirsten Dunst, as well as film veterans Susan Sarandon and Alec Baldwin, Elizabethtown is a film that is sure to feel familiar in terms of the plot for twenty-somethings. Bloom's character, Drew Baylor, is a designer for a shoe company who believes he's onto the greatest accomplishment of his life with a new design that ends up costing the company millions. The film follows Drew as he struggles with suicidal thoughts following his failure and the death of his father, until he meets Claire (Dunst).

Almost Famous
A cult classic, Almost Famous counts the fictional story (although undoubtedly influenced by director Cameron Crowe's experiences touring with rock bands such as Led Zeppelin) of a youthful music journalist writing for Rolling Stone in the early 1970s and attempting to get his first ever cover story. Almost Famous consists of a cast of many easily recognizable actors in part due to its status as a career maker for Anna Paquin, Zooey Deschanel, Jimmy Fallon and Rainn Wilson.
