The Attainable BEACH BODY - How A Personal Trainer Can Get You There

The Attainable BEACH BODY - How A Personal Trainer Can Get You There

Do any of these 3 situations apply to you?

Situation 1: You walk into the gym and look at  the machines laid out in front of you. Muscular men and lithe ladies amble about the room, going through various exercises. If this were a cartoon, a big question mark would form above your head. Where in the world are you supposed to start?!

Situation 2: Monday morning arrives with yet another promise of a productive workout. You roll over to silence your alarm. It's 5:45am. You deserve a few extra snoozes before you hit the gym. Next thing you know, it's 8:30am, and you've barely got time for a quick shower before work. The gym will be there next Monday.

Situation 3: You are online looking at websites with workout plans that promise abs in 6 weeks or guarantee a 10-pound weight loss in 2 weeks. You feel inspired. You keep reading and reading. Hours pass you by as you dive into this "literature." After a few hours, you realize you've read a zillion different conflicting workout methodologies without having anything physical to show for it.

If you're like me, you've probably lived through all 3 of these situations. It's time to break the cycle of procrastinating and unproductive exercise by hiring your own version of a physical-fitness fairy godmother - a personal trainer.

Need some convincing? Read on to find out exactly why you need to hire a personal trainer today.

Learn proper form: When I first had a personal trainer, I pointed out a muscular man lifting weight on a machine I didn't know the name of and said, "I want to be like him." She laughed at me and replied, "Why? He has terrible form. The way he's lifting is actually hurting his muscles." A good trainer will know not just what to lift, but how to lift. Take the time now to learn and perfect your form so you avoid injury later.

Set REALISTIC goals: Your trainer should mock those stupid websites that make lofty promises of HUGE gains in a SHORT amount of time. Working out takes time, and your trainer will help you craft a timetable and workout schedule that is both doable and productive with regards to your fitness goals.

Hold you accountable: You won't get to skip the last 10 seconds of your side plank just because the song you were listening to ended. A trainer will count down to the last second to make sure you're giving your 110% throughout the entire workout. Some of the intense trainers will even add a few extra seconds onto the end...

Keep you motivated: If you've already paid for a trainer, the likelihood of you missing your workout should be a lot lower, unless you're super wealthy and money is no object. But for the rest of us, if we shell out the cash, you better believe we're getting ourselves into the gym and getting every penny's worth.

Set you up for future success: By investing in a trainer now, you'll learn how to craft your own workouts going forward. Think of your trainer as a teacher - a really tough teacher that screams and yells because deep down, he or she knows your true potential.
