Tylon Pittman was on a mission to save Christmas and y'all, he did it!

After seeing a video online of the Grinch stealing Christmas presents, Tylon knew he had to stop the green villain before his presents were stolen, too! No sir!! So knowing he was too little to take on the Grinch by himself --Tylon called 911.

Tylon, a 5-year-old from Mississippi, made the call without his family's' knowledge. The dispatcher assured Tylon that his Christmas was safe over the phone, but it's what happened after the call that really have people smiling. Byram Mississippi Police Officer, Lauren Develle, found a status the dispatcher posted on Facebook and decided to pay Tylon a visit so that he would sleep easy knowing just how safe his Christmas was.

"Our dispatcher posted a status on Facebook that she had received a call from a little boy...and he told her he thought the Grinch was going to be coming to steal his Christmas," Officer Develle told the Clarion Ledger. "I asked her to send me his address."

When the family noticed the lights flashing outside and heard the knocking on the door, they had no idea what was in store.

"I kind of find it really funny....Every Christmas morning, my dad wears these Grinch pants," said Develle, who recalls being compared to beloved character Cindy Lou Who more than once in her life. "It's his favorite movie. Growing up seeing the Grinch every Christmas was my favorite thing."

Tylon's brother, TeDera Dwayne Graves, caught the entire exchange on camera and posted it to facebook to share with friends and family because well...out of the mouths of babes right.

"I can NOT make this up!!!" he posted. "My 5-year-old brother called the police and said that the Grinch is stealing people's Christmas and he don't want him to steal his, so they really came to our house!"

Tylon told the officer he watches all the Grinch videos on Facebook and even showed her the video that made him call 911. "The Grinch is not going to come steal your Christmas. I won't let that happen," Officer Develle told TyLon.

"So what are you going to do if he tries to steal your Christmas," she asked TyLon. "I want y'all to come back to my house and take him to jail," TyLon replied. We're pretty sure the police can handle the Grinch, Tylon.

So what happened next? Fam... Officer Develle, of course assisted by honorary junior officer Tylon, arrested the Grinch! Didn't we say this was the purest thing ever?

Shortly thereafter, the a fake Grinch orchestrated for just this reason, was apprehended and could even be charged with attempted theft of Christmas. Tylon was right there, ready to lock him up and throw away the key--but he had to ask one question first. "Why are you stealing Christmas?" The Grinch sat silent for a moment before simply shrugging his shoulders. Despite an apology from the Grinch, Tylon was not having it, he refused to let the green guy go!

So everyone can sleep tight this holiday season because for future officer Tylon, this was an open and shut case. Everyone gets to keep their Christmas!! Thanks Tylon! #Salute #HappyHolidays
