The most and Happening Hairspray Live Cast is back

Good morning Baltimore! We've got good news for you. The nicest kids are back in town and are ready to run and tell you one thing: you can't stop the beat. Why, you ask?

HAIRSPRAY LIVE IS HAPPENING AND THE CAST IS ABSOLUTELY MAGICAL!!!

Live renditions of musicals can be complicated. First of all, you're mixing live theater with television, which is obviously going to change the entire dynamic of the performance. And of course, it goes without saying, the expectations are insanely high. "No one will ever beat John Travola and Nikki Blonsky as Tracy and Edna!," says America before they turn on their TV. Comparisons are bound to happen, but we're so beyond excited for who they've casted so far.

Everything from the costumes to the overall aesthetic just SCREAMS all things Hairspray. It's so 1960s it hurts!

According to People Magazine, Hairspray will star "an A-list cast that includes Harvey Fierstein and newcomer Maddie Baillio as the mother-daughter duo Edna and Tracy Turnblad in the upcoming reboot, Jennifer Hudson (as Motormouth Maybelle), Ariana Grande (as Tracy's best friend Penny Pingleton), Kristin Chenoweth (as Velma von Tussle), Martin Short (as Wilbur Turnblad), Derek Hough (TV host Corny Collins), Dove Cameron and Garrett Clayton will also appear," they reported, "The NBC production will also feature Sean Hayes (as clothing store owner Mr. Pinky), Andrea Martin and Rosie O'Donnell (as the health education teacher) as guest stars."

Hairspray Live will air exclusively on NBC on December 7th. We're just jumping up and down with excitement at the thought of it.

And QUEEN of all things musical theater Kristin Chenoweth starring as Velma Vontussle? It's not like we didn't predict that before or anything...she's the goddess of all things mean. She's everyone's favorite blonde bimbo, too. We're just as excited as she is!

Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, DOVE CAMERON as Amber Vontussle, her daughter?

And wait. Wait just one minute. JENNIFER HUDSON AS MOTORMOUTH MAYBELLE? We are deceased.

December can't come soon enough.
