THIS IS NOT A DRILL. WE REPEAT: THIS. IS. NOT. A. DRILL.

The eternally sold out Broadway musical Wicked is finally being made into a film. You might be three years older than you are now, but it's STILL COMING. Better late than never, right?

Idina Menzel (Or Adele Dazeem, whatever floats your boat) won the Tony for best actress in a musical all the way back in 2004, so we're shocked it took so long for this mega-success to hit the screen.

You'll be able to watch what happened before Miss Dorothy was swept into a tornado in 2019. So close yet so far. Mostly far, though...

We don't know a whole lot of information so far, but here's what we do know: the movie adaption will be directed by Stephen Daldry (The Hours, Billy Elliot, The Reader) and luckily, it will include a screenplay from Wicked's original scribes. (Phew. For a second we thought they would change the plot.)

The film will include all of the iconic songs the musical gave us, so get ready to defy gravity and be changed for good in 2019.

Although we're a bit too attached to Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth's adaption of Glinda and Elphaba (can you blame us?), we're pretty excited to see who they cast. There's no news yet, but with all this time they have, we're certain the casting will be perfect. Or at least we sure hope!

Do you have any predictions on who they will cast? From broadway babes to sitcom stars all the way to unknown artists, the possibilities are endless. We're too excited to find out and defy gravity with them in 2019. See you then!
