This Mom Goes Way Overboard Pranking Her 9 Year Old Daughter

Have you ever gotten in such a good nap that you think it’s the next day?

Sleep is probably the greatest thing on this planet aside from cheesy fries. And just like cheesy fries, we can’t get enough of it. Some days, being awake is so difficult, taking a nap is the only course of action.

This was exactly the case for little Lexi Cramer. The 9-year-old had the kind of nap that most people can only dream about (all of the pun intended). In fact, when she woke up, she was so well-rested that she thought she had made it all of the way through the night.

When the kid woke up, she just assumed it was time for school—despite the fact that it was actually 6 P.M.

Cramer’s mom, Lindsey Chastain found this so funny that she just went with it. According to an interview with Inside Edition, it’s typically dark when the pair leaves for school anyway, so the kid just assumed that it was the next morning.

Was Mommy Chastain just bitter about her daughter getting to sleep in the middle of the day when there was an 8-hour work day to get through, dinner to be made, errands to be run, and just about any other standard parent duty on the table? If so she decided to roll with it in the most delicious way possible.

Chastain let her daughter think it was the next morning. She coaxed her daughter to hurry up and get dressed, brush her teeth, and comb her hair—all while filming the entire thing. (Why little Lexi didn’t catch on at that point is anyone’s guess.)

Most parents would stop there, show the kid the time, have a good laugh, and get back to whatever they needed to do. Not this mom. No, prank champion that she is, she went ALL IN.

Once her daughter was cleaned up and had her bag packed, they hopped in the car and headed to school. The little girl found out the hard truth (that her mommy is  stone-cold prankster) when they got to school and found it closed.

Lexie, some advice: start sleeping with a wrist watch. It will save you a lot of trouble in the future.
