This Mom Is Completely Transformed After Finally Beating Her Meth And Heroin Addictions
Dejah Hall

Heroin and meth addiction is a severe problem in this country today, with millions of Americans going down the rabbit hole and not being able to get clean. These drug addictions wreak havoc on not just your life, your relationships and your health, but they also take a toll on your appearance.

This woman hit rock bottom when she was arrested in 2012. After making a promise to her grandfather (who has now passed) to get clean, Dejah Hall followed through and turned her life around. The 26-year old now has an 18-month old baby and is sharing images of her dramatic makeover.

Pictures of the Glendale, Airzona resident from four years ago are unrecognizable. Next to a picture of the confident, healthy and beautiful mother of today, you wouldn't even think it was the same person.

Dejah made a promise to her grandfather to get clean when he confessed to her "you're hurting me, Dejah." After looking in the mirror and seeing what the drugs had done to her appearance, she decided to make a change and told him she would get clean.

Addicted to meth and heroine through IV use, she was arrested a short time after making her promise on outstanding felony drug warrants, which actually helped solidify her promise. Even though she still had the option to continue her drug use in prison, she made the decision to go cold turkey.

The recovered addict posted in a public Facebook group for those celebrating their sobriety in December with a side-by-side of her transformation. Her post quickly went viral.

She posted this photo with the caption, "Today marks 4 years clean from heroin and meth. The top left is me in full blown addiction , I was a terrible iv user and like most, progressively got worse. The bottom left is me the day I was arrested 12-6-12 and coincidentally the day I finally surrendered to God! With the help of God I am completing my BA and hope to one day be a prison minister. I have a beautiful 18 month old and everyday I thank God that I am not where I once was! #Sobriety is #Possible 12/6/12."

Citing a newfound relationship with Christ, she was able to come through and transform her life. She is now raising a little girl and is in school to get her bachelor's degree. Dejah was inspired by her past and is hoping to become a prison minister.

While her story is inspiring thousands through social media, there are still a significant number of commenters writing mean things online. Dejah told the Huffington Post that it does hurt her heart but her faith in God keeps her aware that her pain will help others.

When talking about how others can get clean, Dejah said, "“Ask for help, go to church, confront your demons one by one, get to a [Narcotics Anonymous] or [Alcoholics Anonymous] meeting, get a sponsor, work your steps, and never give up on yourself. Forgiveness of ourselves is essential in our recovery process.”
