This Pregnant Instagrammer Shows What Her Body REALLY Looks Like In Side By Side Shots
Whenever a celebrity gets pregnant, all you hear about how great they feel, how they're glowing and they pose looking gorgeous in tummy hugging dresses.
Sophie Cachia, an Instagram star, posted this picture of herself, very pregnant and very gorgeous.
Good lord! We'd love to look like that and we're not even pregnant!
The post got over 7000 likes and tons of comments about "how do you do it?" But after posting such a glam picture Sophie felt like she wasn't telling the whole story of her pregnant life.
So, she posted this.
Sophie is still gorgeous, but looks a lot more like your average pregnant woman. The Instagrammer felt she was portraying an image of herself that wasn't real and wanted to show her followers more of what her every day life looked like.
Though she does like to dress up sometimes and isn't ashamed of it, she specified that that glam picture was only one day and it took a lot of work to look that way. So when women commented "I wish I looked like you when I was pregnant," Sophie had to show the other side.
With her post she said,
I can ASSURE you that 5/7 days a week, THIS IS ME 👆🏻 I'm a 33 week pregnant extremely uncomfortable woman, one with furry teeth, I have a bikini line that I haven't seen for over a month assumably in desperate need of a good wax and owner to a smell of sweat that I can't quite figure out where it's coming from. This is me in all my swollen-cankles glory... Please don't say 'I wish I looked like you' because whilst I should take that as a compliment and I am grateful for your kindness, every person's body is different, everyone's pregnancy is different, and the LAST thing I ever want to seem like I am is the person who makes everything look OK all the time. We all know that's bullshit, true?
We stand up and applaud Sophie! It's totally okay to want to dress up and look nice when you're pregnant. Hell, take all the pictures you want. But when all we see is unattainably beautiful pregnant women, it makes us think we're doing something wrong if we look less than glamorous.
Every pregnancy is different. You might put on a ton of weight but feel great or hardly show but get sick every day and never want to leave the house. Most of pregnancy is way more on the gross side than the glam side and that's totally okay.
So, take your hot pregnant selfies and take your "I had to pee six times in the last hour and I need food now or I'll kill my husband" selfies. Every pregnancy is an an amazing feat of strength and that's worth showing off to everyone.
