This Site Lets You Rate A Place You've Worked Based On How They Treat Women
Let's face it; the year may be 2016 but we are far from where we need to be in terms of women equality in the workplace.
The idea sounds foreign if you say it out loud. But in reality women are constantly held back from promotions, important meetings, raises and beyond just because of their gender. Many women aren't taken seriously, especially in male-dominated businesses.
But some companies do better than others and a new website is making it easier for you, as an empowered woman that deserves to be treated equally, to find them.
InHerSight is a online platform, kind of like Glassdoor, that allows women to rate companies they've worked at for the future reference of others interested in a job there. But the big difference being the platform is made specifically for women.
The ratings site's mission statement explains that its goal is to make the workplace better for women overall by holding companies accountable through employee ratings. The mission explains that it collaborates insight from different women to lay out what's working and what's not working at companies.
Users don't even have to log in and can anonymously rate a company based on their experiences. The website asks all the standard stuff to get the info they need for your company - like the name, the what, the where, etc. But the real information comes when users are asked to rate various categories of the business on a five-star system.
Under 'Family', users can score companies based on how they treat maternity leave and family growth. For 'Schedule & Flexibility' women select their scores for things like paid time off and flexibility to telecommute, while 'Enrichment' includes other things like salary satisfaction and wellness support.

But InHerSight's portal is more than just a platform for ratings. There's also job postings and even a tool to match you with your perfect company.
Employers can share available job postings for users to browse. But also job seekers can fill out what is important to them, similar to the categories we mentioned before, to be matched with the company that best fits them.
