The hype around Super Bowl 51 was much about Tom Brady and the Patriots competing year after year and how they would solidify their legendary status. This was only if the Atlanta Falcons didn’t get in their way first. As the ball kicked off it was time for the Patriots to do what they did best. Win.

The Patriots QB Tom Brady has been referred to as the G.O.A.T. There are two versions of the term G.O.A.T, one is the acronym for GREATEST OF ALL TIME, the other is a mediocre farm animal. In sports one would not want to be referred to as the latter. However Brady in the first half played like the mediocre farm animal. After Brady and the offense stalled on two drives the Falcons quickly jumped out to a 14-0 lead. Then Brady threw right into the hands of Falcons Cornerback Robert Alford and taken all the way back for another six points. Falcons 21, GOAT 0.

Time was running out for New England. Just before the end of the second half the Patriots managed to move the ball just far enough up the field to get a Field Goal. Falcons 21, Patriots 3.

New England refused to give up on any possession clawing their way back into the game. After bringing the game within eight points, Tom Brady launched the ball deep down the field and the Falcons’ Robert Allen played the ball perfectly and tipped it in the air. Julian Edelman dove as the ball was falling to the ground and got two hands on it as Ricardo Allen dove under the ball. Allen’s arm slid under Edelman and ball allowing Edelman to secure the ball mere inches away from the turf. A few plays later the Patriots would tie it up. Falcons 28, Patriots 28.

We needed more than four quarters of football to settle this one. May be it was the luck of a legend that allowed the Patriots to get the ball first. May be it was Brady's innate ability to shock the world, when the world had counted him out. Whatever it was it led to the game winning score by James White. Falcons 28, Patriots 34.

What's the saying GOAT recognizes GOAT? Well some other names in the GOAT discussion weighed in after a wild comeback. One that only a legend could lead. Legend, GOAT, or Best Ever it's all spelled the same way: TOM BRADY.

#Boom. Drops mic and jumps off stage (or field).
