Trump's Handlers Had To Plant Fake Positive News Stories About Him So He Wouldn't Have A Meltdown
At this point, I am exhausted. I am exhausted because I wake up every morning to another terrifying alert about the United States government. I am exhausted because every time Kellyanne Conway appears on television she looks like she is the parent of newborn triplets. I am exhausted because I truly believe that this is not how the world is supposed to work. Call me naive, but I truly believe in the goodness of people.
Recently, Politico released an article detailing how President Trump's personal White House team has to spoon feed him praise from the media every morning. "The key to keeping Trump’s Twitter habit under control, according to six former campaign officials, is to ensure that his personal media consumption includes a steady stream of praise. And when no such praise was to be found, staff would turn to friendly outlets to drum some up—and make sure it made its way to Trump’s desk", one said in the article.
According to the piece, President Trump's advisers will present him with news from the leading "alternative facts" publications like Fox News and Breitbart to keep him from posting rash tweets. Trump is the social media king and has attempted to skewer Arnold Schwarzenegger, Saturday Night Live, and Meryl Streep. As we all can see, he is just feeding the fire.
Which is why his advisers must keep his tiny hands away from his social media platforms.
By spoon-feeding the President of the United States, his team creates a bubble around him - a bubble that will eventually pop. Successful world leaders have all been able to take criticism, feedback, and harsh words and respond with poise. Hell, even Mike Pence responded with absolute class when the cast of Hamilton called him out.
Quite honestly, President Trump's need for praise is akin to that of Kim Jong Un. I would honestly not be surprised if he started to say that Americans were only allowed to see a certain type of news, that which is manipulated by him and his team to cast a favorable light on the President. It is at times like these that I am incredibly thankful for checks and balances as well as the federal judges who continue to stand their ground.
