Trump Slams Rachel Maddow For 'Fake News,' But Americans Think He Leaked His 2005 Taxes

Rachel Maddow turned our Tuesday evenings upside down when she tweeted this:

We later found out she only had his tax return from 2005. Not as exciting as we thought, but hey, it's still something.

Trump's 2005 tax return revealed that he paid $38 million in federal income taxes on a reported income of $150 million, at a rate of 25 percent. While these numbers might not mean anything to you, it means three things: 1. Trump saved millions of dollars by claiming business loses, 2. he's been lying about his net worth for years, 3. his 2005 taxes were actually fair game, causing Americans to believe someone from his team leaked them.

While it may seem like a wild idea at first, it does make sense. If Trump released his taxes from one good year, that would give him reasoning to say, "You already saw my taxes, there's nothing more to see!"

George W. Bush's ethics lawyer even thinks the evidence points to one thing: Trump leaked his own tax return.

The White House released a super shady, unprofessional statement moments before the Rachel Maddow show aired:

Yep, you read that right. The White House really just said, "You know you are desperate for ratings when..." Yikes. Because the White House released the statement before her show even aired, people are thinking he did it to distract from her show. Is this real life or is this an House Of Cards episode?

Donald Trump Jr., the president's son, also chimed in before Maddow's show aired. Clearly, he wanted to take shadiness to a whole new level with this tweet:

So...your father paid 40 millimeters in taxes? Okay Junior!

Donald Trump, also tweeted in response to the Rachel Maddow show—but something seemed off.

If he tweeted about Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson over 10 times, you'd think he would tweet about his tax returns more than once. However, that tweet was the end of it, which definitely raises some suspicion.

In the meantime, we'll be waiting to see his more recent tax returns...
