Trump Wasted $1.75 Mil Redecorating the White House...Here's How He Could've Helped America For That
President Trump sure likes to make a big show of spending taxpayer money wisely...to hear him tell it. In the spring, he signed an executive order demanding a full review of the government’s spending to look for waste. In the summer, he announced the formation of a new federal office dedicated to cutting government waste.
In the fall, he's now spent $1.75 million dollars redecorating the White House and its connected offices. Looks like he has no problem wasting money on himself.
That $1.75 million includes $300,000 for office walls, $240,000 for wood furniture, and almost $13,000 for a custom conference table just like Nixon had (although Nixon paid for his out of his own pocket.) $17,000 for new rugs. $7,000 for “furniture pedestals.”
(Oh yeah - President Barack Obama & First lady Michelle covered their own decorating bill.)
We don't know about you, but if you ask us, $1.75 million is a ridiculous amount of money to furnish the White House. That money could be far better spent on something that actually does some good for the country. $1.75 million could provide:
Thanksgiving dinner for 35,000 families.
Rental assistance for over 250 homeless veterans to help them get off the street.
Eleven new needle exchange programs in cities around the country to help combat the opioid crisis.
15 more employees for Melania so she can focus on ending cyberbullying
Assistance with energy bills for 5,000 families struggling to keep the heat on in the upcoming winter.
Trump could do all sorts of good things with that $1.75 million. But it looks like the president would rather waste a small fortune on redecorating that old “dump,” as he once called the White House.

What do you think?
