Trump Tweeted FAKE Black Murder Stats, Here Are the Real Numbers
Something is seriously wrong with Donald Trump. Just hours after his supporters attacked a #BlackLivesMatter member at a rally in Alabama, the wannabe president retweeted made-up crime stats that slam the black community.
The tweet claims 97% of blacks murdered this year were killed by another black person... and only 1% of African-Americans have been killed by police.
Okay, first thing -- the tweet cites the "Crime Statistics Bureau." Uh, that organization doesn't even exist!
Since Trump didn't do his fact checking, we'll do it for him. The FBI's homicide numbers for 2015 have not been released since the year isn't even over yet. But here's how it breaks down for 2014:
- Blacks killed by whites -- 8%
- Whites killed by whites -- 82%
- Whites killed by blacks -- 15%
- Blacks killed by blacks -- 90%
Now, while it may seem like cops are killing off black folks more than any other race, according to the Washington Post's tally, that's not the case. As of November 23, 2015, officers have shot and killed 878 people -- 417 are white, 224 are black.
Here's to hoping Trump supporters do some number crunching of their own and count him OUT!
