Call the Cops: Ooops! Undercover Cops Get Into Brawl On Sting
Looks like something got lost in communication at the Detroit Police Department recently. In an attempt to fight the drug problem, undercover officers started fighting each other, not realizing that everyone involved was a cop!!
This might be the most hilarious fumble from the police in recent memory.
Two different precincts had two different undercover operations going on. At the 12th Precinct, officers were pretending to be dope dealers at a house on Andover. Their plan was to wait for customers, then arrest the buyers once they came and take their cars.
Sounds like a typical undercover deal, right? Except...
Officers from the 11th Precinct had their own plan. These special ops were undercover as drug buyers and THEIR plan was to arrest the dealers that they bought from.
These undercover cops ordered the "dealers" to the ground and all hell ensued. The rest of the special ops team from the 12th Precinct showed up to raid the house, and officers from both precincts began fighting... each other. LMAO.

Okay, it's funny but it's also scary -- officers are obviously armed, so this fight could have gotten deadly! One officer was taken to the hospital, and sources say that guns were, in fact, drawn. Punches were thrown. It was a whole mess. Sigh.
Meanwhile, the resident of the house on Andover stood and watched, probably having absolutely no idea what to do. Call the cops?!
Finally, seniors of the Police Department were notified about the mix-up along with Internal Affairs. Each officer involved is now under investigation.
Apparently, one of the units was wearing body cameras, so there is video of the entire incident. That ought to be interesting... but it's part of the internal investigation and has not been released yet.

The Andover resident said, "you've gotta have more communication, I guess. I don't understand what happened about that - communicate."
Yeah, seems pretty simple, right?? But apparently not for this department.
You can't make this stuff up.
