Police Bust A Drug-Fueled Gay Orgy At A High-Ranking Vatican Priest's Apartment
Alex, we'll take "Stories That Sound Too Wacky To Be True" for $500.
According to an Italian newspaper, Vatican police busted a drug-fueled gay orgy at a top priest's apartment in June.
Pope Francis was reportedly "enraged" after news of the incident broke since the apartment itself belongs to a branch of the Vatican called the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith, which reviews appeals from clergy found guilty of sexually abusing minors, as The NY Daily News reported.
The priest in question — who was not named by authorities — allegedly serves as a secretary to Cardinal Francesco Coccopalmerio (below), one of Pope Francis' personal advisers.

Police conducted a raid on the apartment last month after neighbors complained of unusual behavior among frequent nighttime visitors.
Following the shakedown, the priest who lived in the apartment was reportedly arrested and taken to a Rome hospital to recover from an overdose.
The Italian newspaper's report claims the priest is currently on retreat at a convent in Italy and will likely face drug charges.
This shocking news comes just a week after Australian Cardinal George Pell, one of the Pope's senior advisers, took a leave from his Vatican post to defend himself against sexual assault claims.
