Video Gamer Dies After Opponent Prank Called Swat In Real Life Who Shot Victim Dead

Things got real after a pair of gamers took their Call Of Duty prank too far. We mean, it got really real...like death real.

According to the NY Post, video gamer, Andrew Finch, was shot to death by a Kansas Swat team after his opponent prank called the Wichita police. The opponent  allegedly claimed Finch had just shot his dad and was holding his mom and brother hostage. Then the prankster gave police Finch's address. WTF!

Crazy right? But it gets worse. The prankster, 25-year-old Tyler Barriss, made the false 911 call because he was upset with Finch over a $1.50 Call Of Duty bet.

Assuming it was a hostage situation, the Wichita Swat team was dispatched. They surrounded the house as Finch walked out the front door.  The NY Post reports that FInch raised and dropped his hands multiple times before an officer opened fire, killing him with one shot.

This isn't the first time, Tyler Barriss, who lived 1,400 miles away in Los Angeles has pulled some foolishness like this. Three years ago he called 911 with a fake bomb threat and was sentenced to 2 years in jail.

Barriss  was arrested for his involvement in Andrew Finch's death. If all this doesn't make your head spin, check this out. Barriss' gamer name is Swautistic, in reference to the term 'swatting', which means to prank call the police in efforts to get them to falsely respond to the provided address.

Unfortunately, this is a case of taking things too far. Hopefully, this is the end of  Swautistic's pranks...and no more lives will be put at risk over this foolishness.

RIP Andrew Finch.
