Video Released of Chicago Cop Shooting Ronald Johnson in the Back, No Charges Filed
Some are calling this a clear case of -- how to get away with murder. The Chicago cop who shot Ronald Johnson in the back will not face criminal charges.
Unlike the officer in the Laquan McDonald case, prosecutors say grainy dash cam video released Monday proves Officer George Hernandez followed procedure in the October 2014 shooting.
"I'm looking at this [video] and it appears he [Johnson] has an object in his hand," Cook County State Attorney Anita Alvarez told reporters. "All of the evidence we have points to that Mr. Johnson did indeed have a gun."
But Johnson's family says -- that's a lie. They claim cops planted the gun on Johnson and say the only thing the video proves is that he was murdered.
