The notion of laziness is usually regarded as something negative, and that's understandable. A lazy person is easily dismissed as inefficient. But what most people don't know is that being lazy can actually be good for you, but only if you're smart about it and don't let it impede your productivity. Laziness, when it comes in temporary spurts, has benefits too!

1. It boosts your creativity.

Being continuously busy working doesn't leave much room for creativity. When you have some downtime, your mind can actually relax and your creative juices will start flowing.

2. It makes you more productive.

Bill Gates once said, "I choose a lazy person to do a difficult job because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it." And he's right. Lazy people tend to find the easiest possible way to solve a task. And this results finding more efficient methods of accomplishing things.

3. It actually helps you sleep better.

Working overtime can sometimes be regarded as a good thing, but doing it on a regular basis has its repercussions. Spending more hours at work and getting less sleep takes a toll on one's performance. A lazy person does the opposite. They are the last people to burn the midnight oil and they usually go to bed at a decent hour and get ample amount of rest.

4. It gives you greater focus.

It might seem counterintuitive, but staying off task can actually help you tackle your to-dos with renewed focus. There might be a couple of tasks you left to do until the last minute, and when you finally do them, you're supercharged with intensity and concentration. The thrill of pressure sometimes can help too.

5. It makes you have more time to yourself.

Workaholics devote all their time on their jobs that they tend to forget their personal well-being. Lazy people know when to slow down to take time for themselves and they do it regularly. Self-love is important, after all.
