Woman Found in Home Had Been Dead for Over a Year!

In this day and age, it's tough to believe that someone could disappear for more than year without anyone reporting them missing. But that's exactly what cops say happened to a woman in Virginia.

52-year-old Toni Anderson had been dead in her mobile home for more than a year before her body was found. That's right, A YEAR!

A concerned neighbor eventually went over to the house. When Anderson didn't answer, he climbed through an open window and found her dead in her bed.

Detectives believe she passed away in her sleep of natural causes somewhere between September 2014 and December 2014.

But a year?! Where was her family? Friends? Co-workers?

Turns out, she was a private person, lived alone, wasn't employed... and her closest relatives are in West Virginia.

"This has been a wake-up call for us," said Minister Evelima Thurston, who knew Anderson from church. "There are so many people out there living alone, and if you know some of them, check on them. Now I wish I had called police and said please check on her."
