She's A Real One! Shanta Jordan Jumped In Front Moving Car To Save A Kid's Life
Wonder Woman just came out last weekend. Coincidence?
This real-life superhero just used her body as a shield a young boy from an oncoming out-of-control car.
Shanta Jordan did not wake up that morning thinking she’d be a hero the next day, but that’s exactly what fate had in store for her.
She was walking outside of a restaurant and saw a vehicle approaching, clearly out of control. Right in the cars path was a young unidentified boy.
Shanta did the unthinkably brave and jumped in front of the car, blocking it from making direct contact with the child. You can watch surveillance footage of the incident below (no gore, but pretty terrifying nonetheless):
As you can see, Shanta’s body acts like padding for the kid. Police who’ve reviewed the tape say that she undoubtedly saved the boys life.
“If she did not step in, the child would be in direct contact with the motor vehicle against the wall,” explained the police chief, “and most likely, he would have perished.”
There were fears early on that the boy’s legs may have to be amputated, but after hours of surgery that’s no longer a concern. Both the child and Shanta are recovering in the same hospital. The driver was also taken to the hospital, but has since been arrested for reckless driving.
Shanta is going to be honored in a special ceremony acknowledging her bravery later this week (as she should be!) once she’s recovered a bit more.
