What's the greatest thing your partner has ever done for you? Give you a big ass ring, take you on a dream vacation, save your life? Okay, that last one is not something that happens on the daily for every couple but for Heather Krueger - that was her reality after a complete stranger went from being her donor to the man she walked down the aisle to after she was diagnosed with stage four liver cancer.

Back in 2014 Krueger was going about her life per usual. She was doing her normal, everyday routine when she got the news that she not only had liver cancer, but it was stage four. A few months after her diagnosis things were from worse to the worst when her doctors told her the odds of her pulling through were 50/50, and that she should plan on only living another couple of months. That was of course unless she found a donor who was a perfect match.

Elsewhere Chris Dempsey was just going about his day in the break room at work like he'd done the day before and would do the next when he overheard his coworker going on about his cousin who was in desperate need of a liver transplant. Dempsey had never met this cousin of his coworker, didn't even really know her name, but he has said that he just put himself in her family's shoes and thought that if it were him, he'd want someone to step up and help their loved one out. So that's what he did. He volunteered to be Heather's donor and after some tests came back that he and Heather were good to go, he gave her a call. She told Today.com, "I got off the phone and ran down the hallway, and my mother and I were both crying our eyes out in disbelief,” Heather told Today.com. “I had never even met this man before."

As if this man wasn't a saint already, he also took Heather out to lunch and told her that his motorcycle club was going to help raise money for her medical bills. Okay, really - where are all the Chris Dempseys in the world? Whether or not it was the connection they'd have for life or something else, the two started to have feelings for one another long before the surgery but remained silent for obvious reasons. After Heather was all well and done though, the two started dating and soon enough they were engaged and married.

It's one hell of a "meet cute" but ain't no RomCom could top the amount of tears caused by that fateful day Chris walked into that breakroom, overheard someone in need, stepped up and eventually saved and married the woman of his dreams.
