5 Cocktails That Scream Summer

The sun is out, and so are you and your friends. The night is young, and even if it isn't, it's been a hard week, or day, and it's time to celebrate getting to the other side of it. If you're so over your usual strawberry margarita, here are some other things you can make with your girls, or get fancy and order at the bar. With each sip your tastebuds will know that it most definitely is summer!

1. Coconut Margarita

Okay, I know, it's STILL a margarita, but can you say you've had a coconut one before? Imagine that creamy coconut-y dream of a drink. You just need:

1.5 ounces tequila

.5 ounces Cointreau

1 ounce coconut cream

1 ounce coconut milk

.5 ounces lime juice

Finish with a splash of half-and-half and simple syrup.

2. Tomato Mojito

Oh yassss! If a Bloody Mary and Mint Mojito had a baby, this would be it. Just put these things together:

5 grape tomatos

6 mint leaves

1 lime

1 lemon

2 teaspoons simple syrup

2 ounces tequila

.5 cup sparkling water

Finish with a pinch of salt.

3. Kiwi Mai TaiIf you haven't been on vacation in a while, get ready to feel like you are! An intriguing twist on a classic mai tai, all you need:

3 ounces pineapple juice

2 ounces kiwi juice

1 ounce spiced rum

.5 ounces coconut rum

1 teaspoon grenadine

Garnish with fresh kiwi, pineapple and maraschino cherries.

4. Cucumber Gin Lemonade

As cool as a cucumber, no wait... definitely cooler. Mommy's version of a lemonade will be calm, crisp and refreshing. Just grab:

3 ounces lemon juice

3 ounces cucumber juice

2 ounces gin

2 ounces simple syrup

Finish with a dash of club soda.

5. Melon Ball End All

The most versatile cocktail on the list, you can combine nearly any melon and any alcohol into this concoction. Now get your melon baller out and get ready to get creative. You'll need:

6 balls of melon (watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe)

5 ounces of your favorite hard liquor 

3 ounces sparkling water

Finish with a few ice cubes, and voila, you're ready to sip to summer!
