Harriet Tubman was a BOSS during slavery times, as she was one the main forces behind the Underground Railroad and was responsible for helping nearly 70 Black folks gain their

freedom in the "promised land." 

That, and she will be the face of the new $20 bill in 2020. 

And luckily for us, this film may be in theaters sooner

than we think. Tony award winning actress Cynthia Erivo has been tapped to star as the lead in the upcoming film Macro "Harriet."

While there is a documentary about Nasir Bin Olu Dara Jones--"Nas: Time Is Illmatic"--we have yet to see a scripted feature length film about the "King of New York."

And trust,

he deserves one given that there is a lot to cover about his career and impact. 

From the making of "Illmatic"-- one of the best hip-hop albums ever made--to his

childhood growing up in Queens to pulling himself up after dropping out of school in the eigth grade to his tumultuous marriage to Kelis, HE'S GOT A STORY TO TELL!

Since #45 got elected, California Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters has been the much-needed voice and face of the resistance!

But it's important to point out that the 79-year-old has been doing

her thing way before the 2016 presidential election. Her story spans decades of her fighting for Black people in and outside of Congress. 

Obviously, the name of this film would

have to be "Reclaiming My Time."

R&B singer Luther Vandross left this earth too soon back in 2004 at the age of 54. That, and he died with a deep dark secret that he never felt

he could share with Black America. 

He was a closeted gay man. 

Despite his sexual orientation, Luther was an important part of Black culture and music with his powerful love

songs that we all know we have a few memorized.

He was truly a legend who is worthy of his own biopic. 

The "Work It" rapper, born Melissa Arnette Elliott in the Virginia city of Portsmouth in 1971, and become one of the bestselling female rap album artists of all-time. OF ALL-TIME!!!

Not

only has Missy Elliot helped the careers of younger singers such as Aaliyah, but her futuristic style and innovative visuals really did change the game of music videos. 

That, and

it's rare that we get to view the hip-hop world through a Black female lends when it comes to films. 

Times up! 

This one is so obvious, it barely needs any explaining as to why a movie about Former President Obama and Former First Lady Michelle Obama needs to be made. 

But

here it goes: He is the first Black president of the United States, as she is the first Black First Lady. 

BOOM!

Obviously, it's more than just that. They are the epitome

of the Black American Dream, #BlackExcellence, #BlackLove, you name it. 

They got us feeling like we can achieve anything...and that's the type of hope we need to see!

It's no secret that Angela Davis has been a Black National treasure. The former Black Panther, scholar, lawyer and freedom fighter has helped change of all our lives!

And for

years, there have been plenty of rumors that Angela's story will be made, with Halle Berry wanting to play her. And while the Oscar winner's dream may not come true,

an Angela Davis movie is happening! And sista Julie Dash is set to direct it this summer!

FIGHT THE POWER!

Look...love him or hate him, Michael Jordan is one of the greatest basketball players--AND ATHLETES--of all time!

That's just a fact that can't be denied. 

From his early beginnings at

the University of North Carolina to his domination on the Chicago Bulls to his retirement to his father's tragic death, the 55-year-old billionaire has an interesting and influential story. 

We

bet if this ever happened, given their tight relationship, Spike Lee would definitely direct it!

This is another one that needs no explanation. 

Oprah Winfrey, a young girl who grew up in Mississippi, rose to the ranks to become one of the richest and most influential

Black women in American history. Hell, world history!

That, and the Oscar-winner is the richest Black women in North America clocking in a net work of almost $3 billion. 

It's

clear to to us that she doesn't need to run for President to be immortalized on the big screen. And we wouldn't be surprised if her protege, Ava DuVernay, would be

first in line to direct this one!

Yes, we had "Straight Out Of Compton," but we need AND want a sequel that focuses on the rise of Snoop Dogg and how his Calif-Crypt sound forever changed West

Coast hip-hop.

Like for real!

That, and we need producer Will Packer to get on this one STAT!!!
