Mikaila Ulmer was only 11-years-old when she finessed her grandma’s flaxseed lemonade recipe into her own lemonade concoction. 

This bright youngin’ was inspired to revamp her granny’s formula after being

stung by a bee. Mikaila is the perfect example of what can happen when you turn those lemons into lemonade.

Tim Talley was always in the business of helping others, although he commenced his career by helping businesses develop products and marketing strategies.

While still in college, Tim decided to

take his skills to a new level by launching his own business. He created the idea for U-Lace No-Tie sneaker laces and ran with it. In 2009, he launched U-Lace

to help kids from taking that L and tripping over their own shoelaces.

Cory Nieves was just another youngin’ when he got the idea for taking his cookies beyond his mama’s kitchen and into stores across the nation. Tired of taking the bus

everywhere, Cory decided that he wanted to take the steps to help save money to buy his ma a car. We don’t know about you, but we need a workshop

from his moms about how she raised such a thoughtful and action-oriented young man. We’re just sayin’.

Nonetheless, Cory’s cookies are made with all-natural ingredients, but as Cory describes, most

importantly, they’re, “made with love.” You can find his cookies in Whole Foods and other grocery stores across the country.

Desiree Stolar was a Harvard business grad when she and her classmate created their Unshrinkit product with prize money that they won from a school business competition. Unshrinkit is a

solution used to restore shrunken wool sweaters.

Desiree got the idea after she shrunk one of her sweaters that her sister gave her. Innovation at its finest.

Maya Penn is a renaissance girl and a master of all trades. Amongst other things, this talented young lady is a designer, author, and animated filmmaker.

Not only does she

create environmentally sustainable fashion items, but she also writes and illustrates children’s books, in addition to using her platform to bring awareness to a variety of issues, such as the

importance of the planet, and the need for eco-friendly sanitary products for girls.

We think Alicia Keys wrote her, “Girl on Fire,” song with Maya as her muse, because she’s

awesome, and we’re here for it all.

Renaldo was a consultant who worked for pet food factories. Once he discovered that dead, dying, disabled and diseased animals were used to make pet food, as a pet owner

himself, he set out to create a healthier food option for his dog.

Renaldo developed PetPlate, an all-natural pet food delivery service that’s good enough for humans to eat as

well.

With the help of his Ma and grandma, Moziah Bridges started his business of selling bright and fun bowties in Memphis at just 9 years old.

Years later and Mo

has made clients out of some of the most respectable men in the country, with #OurPresident Obama, being one of them.

Lydia Evans is a medical esthetician who produced a 3-in-1 soap that she properly named, SW&G Bar. Her soap is embedded with a loofah which cleans, exfoliates, and disinfects the

skin all at once.

She partnered with Ced the Entertainer to cross promote her products along with his line of hats.

Asia Newson sells the world signature candles as well as her line of Super Business Girl merchandise. This super girl also offers “How to be a YOUTHpreneur” workshops that schools

other kids in the 4th -12th grade about merchandising, innovation, entrepreneurship, and of course candle making.

Dr. Ayanna Howard is a roboticist and founder of Zyrobotics, a software development company that develops entertaining and comprehensive games for children with special needs. Shout outs to her for

creating all-inclusive games for kids across the board.

After earning her PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California, she worked in NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab while leading

in robotic projects that focused on vision and neural network.

Big ups to black women like Dr. Howard who although are way ahead of the game, work tirelessly to

bring society up to pace with them.
