Brenham, Texas is probably not a place that many people have ever heard of. That's because it's a tiny town about halfway between Houston and Austin that's covered in Bluebonnets,

Indian paintbrushes and evening primroses. It's a kaleidoscope of color during spring, a.k.a. Bluebonnet season. You'll likely see cars stopped all along the farm-to-market roads taking photos (probably for their

Instagram feed). In April, in nearby Chappell Hill, the state's annual Bluebonnet Festival takes place. It's definitely worth checking out.

The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is home to a garden of cacti with native wildflowers, and a butterfly garden, which has two flowering peaks—April and early fall. One might not think

of a desert as lush, but this abnormally colorful desert always has something in bloom. Check out the prickly pears sprouting on the cacti and desert ironwood trees growing lavender

flower coats. It's quite the sight and most definitely worthy of your Instagram feed.

Around since 1959, this hidden oasis in Brookeville, Maryland is home to over 22,000 azalea bushes across five acres of forest. Nature truly comes to life in these woods mid-May.

The technicolor bursts of red, pink, purple and orange are to die for, so be sure to have your camera ready.

Officially dubbed the "Wildflower Capital of Colorado,"  Crested Butte's mountains and valleys are covered in clusters of colorful blossoms. Visit in late spring and summer and see an array of

blue columbines, red Indian paintbrushes, yellow sunflowers, purple delphiniums, dark-blue lupines and many more. It's a realm of rainbow amongst a breathtaking backdrop, and is surely not one you want

to miss.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the most visited national park in America, and it's clear as to why. There are over 1,500 species of flowering plants blooming during

the spring, but the high elevation views, the waterfalls and the lush forests are all brilliant backdrops for photography as well as the naked eye. It's a brilliant landscape, and

while it's worth a trip any time during the year, the spring is perhaps the most beautiful.

You know all those pictures on Instagram with the fields of orange flowers? Those are taken at Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve. The landscape chances, based on the time of day,

temperature and location in the valley, so basically nobody will ever capture the same image twice. The season lasts from late February through May, and the breathtaking views are 100%

worthy of an annual trip, camera or not.

To be honest, Kauai is beautiful no matter what time of year it is. The Lawa'i Valley is always in bloom, as it is one of the wettest places on

earth. Spring and summer definitely pack the biggest punch, though. So, if you are able to make the trek, it will blow you away with its beauty. Take the new

McBryde Garden Biodiversity Trail and get your cameras ready for flaming red coral trees, pua kala blossoms and the tropical fruit orchard.

The Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is another shockingly vibrant desert, especially shocking due to the perfect confluence of conditions for it to bloom. Regardless of the conditions, if you cruise

around the desert between February and April you are bound to find colorful clusters of prickly poppies, yellow hair suncaps ,heart-leaved primrose, redstem filaree and many more.

The Chicago Botanic Gardens are always impressive around springtime. They span over 385 acres and April through June are the most colorful months of the year. Be sure to pack

your walking shows and a fully-charged phone battery, because you'll want to snap some shots of EVERYTHING.

Perhaps one of the most photographed places during the spring, Washington, DC is home to tons of beautiful cherry blossoms. The annual festival celebrates these blooms, but you can check

them out periodically throughout the spring. It's definitely worth making the trip at least once.
