Gallery: Is Hollywood Finally Woke? 2018 Slate of Movies Step in Right Direction

OK. We know there's pitiful few blockbusters featuring black characters. But ya know what? Maybe... just maybe Hollywood's woke up since the "Oscars so White" clap back.

2017 ushered in a slew of blockbusters – Wonder Woman, Dunkirk, Atomic Blonde, Logan – that were, well, pretty damn white. That’s not to say 2017 was totally busted. Detroit's killing it in theaters now. John Boyega and Anthony Mackie are freaking amazing it that movie. And c'mon, we’ve got to give major props to Jordan Peele for not only starring in, but directing, writing and producing Get Out – arguably one of the most innovative and provocative horror films of all time and definitely the most talked-about genre flick of the whole year. Peele is the first black writer-director to have a $100 million debut – let’s hope he’s not the last.
