We know you remember Lisa Nicole Carson from movies like Love Jones and Eve’s Bayou. She was definitely the bees’ knees, if we must say so ourselves. Seeing a beautiful

and confident Black woman on the big screen was dope, especially as she played Josie, Nina’s (Nia Long) home girl in Love Jones.

Carson added that extra finesse that just

enhanced Love Jone’s soulfulness.

Ya’ll may recall Bumper Robinson in everything from “Amen” to “A Different World.” We also can’t forget about him playing a young Jackie Jackson in the classic, The Jacksons: An

American Dream, movie even if we tried.

Bumper made appearances on “The Steve Harvey Show” and “In Living Color.” He was that dude, let us just say. Although he does

several voice overs for cartoons, we would love to see him back in action on television taking on another notable role.

Tamala Jones may just be the Queen of the 90s and early 2000s. Her roles in The Brothers, The Wood, Booty Call, and most definitely, Next Friday, were beyond striking,

to say the least. We can’t talk about Tamala without mentioning her role in Head of State, Chris Rock’s presidential comedy, and her enduring role as Tanya on television’s “One

on One.”

She recently worked on the television show, “Castle,” but we’d be lying through our teeth if we said that we wouldn’t want to see Tamala back on the

big screen.

Tamala had that vibe that made a lot of women relate to her. She’s definitely the sh*t, and we’re damn near fiending for another one of her standout

roles.

When we think Tyrin Turner, the first thing that comes to mind is Menace II Society. His role as Caine had everyone biting their nails hoping that this youngin’ would

survive all the bullsh*t that his environment (and his actions) put him through.

Tyrin is also known for his role in Belly, a very different but hilarious turn away from

his Caine character.

Please excuse us as we stand for Taral Hicks real quick, ya’ll. She was the beauty in Belly and most notably, The Bronx Tale. Taral embodied fly, point blank period.

She recently starred in a film entitled Where Hearts Lie, but we’re not satisfied. We want more Taral, dammit. 

Leon is best known for his roles in The Five Heartbeats, Waiting to Exhale, and the Temptations. We love seeing Leon take on these roles in these classic black films,

as he is really a brilliant actor.

Don’t get it twisted though, he’s still on the scene, acting in several different television series and indie films, but who can ever

get enough of Leon?

You can’t talk about 90’s television and film without talking about an actress like Lela Rochon. She was pretty badass. She’s known for her roles in films from Harlem Nights

to Waiting to Exhale. She added to the flair of the 90’s for sure.

Mel Jackson played some real diverse roles back in the day. Folks probably remember him the most from his reoccurring role on “In Living Single,” and of course, his role

as Simuel, the low-key evil guy who was lusting big time over Bird (Nia Long).

Mel has continued to work as well, acting in some indie films, but we won’t

be content until he makes another big screen appearance.

“You Ain’t Gotta Lie, Craig.” Yes, that is probably the line which Ms. Paula Jai Parker is best known for. She played Craig’s (Ice Cube) annoying and unfaithful girlfriend in

Friday. Her role in Hustle & Flow was just as unforgettable. 

We’re sure every woman won’t ever forget the baby face of Khalil Kain from his role in Juice back in ’92. He also played in Love Jones in addition to

the long running television series, “Girlfriends.” Khalil has definitely continued to act and work on some television series and indie films as well. He also utilizes his talents behind the

camera as a producer.
