We know you remember growing up, crossing your heart, and hoping to die that you would never, ever make yourself do all those chores that your parents ordered you to

The mundane rituals of the day throughout the week were so structured. Even on the weekend, your pops was all in your ear reminding you that no kid in

Do

they know that you want to be an actress? Or that you’ve had aspirations of starting your own coffee and book shop since you were a scrawny thing?

the smaller steps that it takes to get to your ultimate come-up goal, so you can work on those while you work on your #RelationshipGoals. #winwin

Don’t slack! Goal-making (and

execution) is what dreams are actually made of.

Tell boo that you can’t stay out all night chopping it up with them because you got to focus on your glow up!

If they don’t understand, then you should

probably kick them to the curb.

Distractions are the root of all (glow up) evils. If you’re serious about a life lived on your terms, then you have to chill

with all the nights spent at the bars and the hours spent at clubs.

That goes for the homies, too. Surround yourself with people who are in the same mindset

that you are...that way, you all will keep each other focused. 

When working on your hustle, sometimes your crib or the office of your full-time job won’t really cut it.

Have you ever been at your cubicle and instead of working

on the grind, your supervisor catches you working on your five-year plan of the business you seem to lose so much sleep over?

We’re not advocating for you to lose

the full-time gig over your enthusiasm for your own hustle, but best believe, we get that level of passion.

Try a coffee shop or the library. Finding the best environment

will really help you to zone in and work more effectively. Committing to a schedule will also help.

If anything, don’t believe the hype of any hater who doubts your greatness. Zoning in on securing the bag means that you treat naysayer nonsense like it’s a grain of

salt.

As Lil Weezy would say, what’s a goon to a goblin? 

Time really does fly, so you really have to make every little second count. Don’t get caught up scrolling through Facebook, seeing what the next is doing.

Your time is

valuable, pimpin’. Dodge the texts, put the phone on silent, and resist the urge to surf the web for that hoodie your bestie said she bought online.

You’re not a freaking super hero, and you’ll exhaust yourself trying to carry the whole load of your come-up goals on your back.

Enlist those in your circle who are

willing to help and support you. From research to networking to attending workshops with you, a lot of times people are glad to share in your journey. Ask. And be

sure to return the favor when needed.

Following your dreams won’t come without taking some L’s. Don’t be afraid of them, but instead embrace them into your arms as if you were accepting the resignation of Trump.

You honestly have to be as resistant...don't let anything or anyone stop you.

Persevere, young one, persevere!

Knowing your strengths versus your weaknesses is how you play the game. When you’re in the know, you can play to those strengths and capitalize off of that.

Ali did

the exact same thing when he faced a burly, solid George Foreman in Zaire. The legend knew what was up and used his infamous rope-a-dope tactics to win against the

impossible. Speed and endurance would serve as king to help him come out on top.

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. Pull that Ali on ‘em and you’ll

surely win.

You have to know without a doubt in your mind, that you are absolutely the sh*t at what you do. Fake it 'til you make it. Don’t fall into traps

and start comparing yourself to those doing something similar. They have their journey and you have yours.
