While changing your name to Fat Amy in college is probably not the best move, Fat Amy does prove that you can reinvent yourself into whomever you want when you

leave your hometown and move to college, so don't be afraid to try it.

Whether you're hanging out with your friend in your dorm room, or trying to have a romantic moment with your crush, beware of the roommate. Even if your roommate is

super cool, they can be a buzzkill at any point in time. Sorry.

Working out is hard and when you don't have organized sports or a team you are a part of anymore, like you did in high school, getting to the gym

can be such a chore. Trust us, even walking to class will help you feel less sluggish. Just no horizontal running, please, it won't do you any good.

Working at the radio station on campus would actually be super fun, and not totally boring, which is a plus. Who knew having a job could be cool?

Okay, so you probably already knew that singers are hot, but Pitch Perfect just proved it, so we had to add it to the list.

Warning: drinking may cause you to say things you don't mean or act like a total dummy. It comes with the college lifestyle, so don't worry about it, but definitely

pay attention to how much you drink.

Getting involved is a definite must in college. You can be like Beca and join an a cappella team, or you can join the school newspaper or a sorority. It

While we love Brittany Snow's character, Chloe, when she bombards Beca in the showers it's just plain creepy. Sadly, communal showers are still a thing in some schools, so just

be prepared for awkward encounters.

It's true, sometimes singing along to Miley Cyrus, or Britney Spears is the answer to all your problems. Just because you're in college, doesn't mean you can't still be a

kid.

High school is full of Queen B type girls and those who want to be them, and sadly college still has a few of those types walking around. The good

news is that you can just walk away from the Queen B and find your own clique, or you can face them head on, because they don't have as much

power at the university level, the schools are way bigger and you're way strong.

Beca always stayed true to herself within the movie and that's why we love her. Being yourself at all stages in life, especially in college, which is more accepting of

people who are different, is the most important lesson you can learn.

If you believe in yourself, like Fat Amy does, you will be successful and people will definitely feed off that positive energy.

This is a big one people! The friends you make in college really will last you a lifetime, so choose wisely.

Yes, Jesse and Beca do end up together in the movie, but it was their friendship that was key to their success in school. You can have a significant other,

but don't let it get in your way of doing whatever you want in college.

Beca almost lost her friends and her future boyfriend because she never let anyone in, which is so sad. No one wants to be alone, so be more open and

try to let people in, it's a way more fun way to live anyways.
