Gallery: 6 Ways to Handle Rejection Like a Big Girl
Rejection is such an ugly word. It really is. It means “to refuse to have, take, recognize, etc.”, “to discard as useless or unsatisfactory” and “to cast out”. Taking all of this into account, no wonder most of us cringe at the thought of experiencing it.
It doesn’t matter if it’s rejection on the job, rejection in a relationship or even rejection from a friend, when it happens our feelings get hurt. Sometimes we’re downright offended. And that’s OK. Because we’re human.
What we have to be careful of is allowing rejection---including the person who rejected us---to have too much power in our lives. Just because they might refuse what we have to offer, that doesn’t make us any less relevant or valuable.
Still, it can help to know how to handle rejection with grace rather than letting it ruin your day (or week or life). If you’re currently experiencing a bruise from rejection, give us a few moments to get you on the road to healing. So that you can get to what’s really and truly meant for you!
