Whether you immerse yourself in a foreign culture or you only have the budget to hop a couple states over, you need to travel all by your lonesome. It will

make you experience things differently. Group travel is nice, but you don’t discover as much about yourself by relying on others.

What are the things you want to do before you leave this mortal coil? Now’s the time to figure that out! Without considering the feelings of a partner, you can

plan away to your heart’s content. This is how you’ll figure out what is REALLY important to you, and then you can find someone out there who matches those ideals.

Now comes the hard part. Before you go out and find someone to distract you from the list, make some headway and cross 3 things off of it. You will

have some momentum built up, so that when you meet the right person, you will still feel compelled to continue on your bucket journey.

Much like traveling, living on your own offers you insight into who you are. Being alone doesn't have to be lonely, and you will learn this by figuring out how

to live alone for a bit. That way, you will be able to recognize when the right partner comes along, rather than latch onto the first person that crosses your

path who can complete full sentences.

Okay, so this one isn’t as fun as the others, but it’s just as important. You need to make sure that you can actually take care of yourself out there

in the big, scary adult world before you go hitching your life to someone else’s. Plus, knowing what a 401k is will definitely keep them interested.

Now is the time to try new activities. Try the weird hobby you’ve always been curious about. Maybe you want to finally check out CrossFit or you can carry through

on that urge to go geocaching. Whatever it is, you’ve got the time to do it now. Plus, it will make you more interesting when you choose to settle down.

Once you have all of these fun new things under your belt, you can get back out there. Start small though: speed dating (at the appropriate age level) will allow

you to think about the possibility of dating in a fun, casual environment. Now that you’re so worldly and responsible, you’ve got plenty to talk about!
