Death Valley does not sound very inviting. But the barren desert holds great beauty. From the crystal clear skies to the changing designs of the sand, Death Valley is a

shockingly lovely place to visit and feel like you're in another world.

Washington State isn't just Starbucks and rain. Eastern Washington actually isn't all that cloudy and holds much of the states farmland and apple orchards. But the Palouse in particular is

stunning. Filled with rolling hills and wheat fields, this picturesque makes you think of Washington in a totally new way.

Northern California is home of the Redwood Forests. It may seem like just another bunch of trees, but these giant redwoods are in a league of their own. Walking amongst

these giants of nature is humbling and peaceful. Seeing the constant growth and regrowth of the living forest reminds you of simplicity of nature and life.

Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky has over 400 miles of explored caves. It's the largest known cave system in the world. The array of rocks are like natural sculpture

and there's something new around every corner.

See huge mountains of ice rise up from the sea. That's not some mythological tale, it's the Hubbard Glacier in Alaska. With bright blue waters and icy peaks, this glacier

is a surreal beauty.

Another serene rocky expanse, Bryce Canyon features fascinating cliff walls and valleys. Another wonder of Utah outside of the Great Salt Lake.

An island protected by the Arcadia National Park, you couldn't get a more beautiful collection of ocean views, forest and New England architecture. As the woodlands become rocky cliffs to the

sea, it's an amazing little gem.

This isn't from some tropical island or far away oasis. It's from the Cascade Mountains in Oregon. In a dormant volcano called Mount Mazama, sits the beautiful Crater Lake, the deepest

lake in the US. The volcano hasn't erupted since 5700 BC, so there's no worry about any unexpected lava flows.

The largest river swamp in the country, the Atchafalaya Basin stretches over 140 miles. Known for it's Cypress trees that grow from the swampy depths, this land is incredibly beautiful.

The road to Hana in Maui has many spectacular sites along the way, but one of the best is the Seven Sacred Pools. These linking lakes are gorgeous and you can

take a dip and bathe under a waterfall. A stunning wonder that captures much of the singular beauty of Hawaii.
