Shout out to all of the introverts out there who may have grown up thinking they were socially awkward. Turns out, you just might be smarter than the popular kids and party animals!

A study that was released last summer reveals that people who are considered to be anti-social may have a higher IQ than socialites do. The reasons are still being looked into, but one is that they don’t seem to find satisfaction in interaction with others. When they’re alone, they spend more time reading, researching and learning. (Makes sense.)

Everything in balance, though. If you are an introvert (click here to check out some of the traits), there’s still something to be said about mixing-and-mingling with folks, at least some of the time. If that’s challenging for you, here are some suggestions that can make it all a bit easier.
