Former President Barack Obama got a rock star's welcome when he stepped out in New York City this week.
On Friday morning, No. 44 met with members of the Simons Foundation, a philanthropic organization that funds research in the fields of math and science. According to TMZ, its namesakes have donated about $700,000 for the Obama Presidential Library in Chicago.
A video taken at the scene shows a crowd cheering wildly as Obama, flanked by members of the Secret Service, waves and hitches a ride in a nearby vehicle.
